These terms are well known to experienced players, but can be confusing for beginners. Let’s talk about what they mean

Backgammon is usually played not for fun, but with the use of some kind of bet. Even if we are talking, for example, about game currency, it’s much more interesting, don’t you agree? To do this, we need the features of counting the victory.

* Oin
If your opponent has removed all the checkers from the board, and you managed to remove at least one from the playing field, this is “Oin”. Loss of the bet made at the beginning of the game, that is, the score is 1:0.

* Mars

All the checkers have been removed from the opponent, and not a single one from you. It’s called “Mars”. Score 2:0, loss of a double bet.

* Turkish Mars

All the checkers of the loser remained on the playing field, while one or more of them are on the bar or in the opponent’s house. This is Turkish Mars. The score is 3:0, the loss of the triple bet! This is possible only in backgammon.
